Senators Set to Strike Lightning at Amalie Arena

As the Ottawa Senators prepare to face off against the Tampa Bay Lightning at Amalie Arena, fans are eager to see if their team can continue their recent trend of high-scoring games. The Senators have shown a remarkable ability to find the back of the net, as evidenced by their last three performances.

In their most recent game against Pittsburgh, Ottawa emerged victorious with a 5-4 win in overtime. They demonstrated resilience by bouncing back from a two-goal deficit and showcased an impressive shooting percentage of 19 percent. Despite winning only 41 percent of faceoffs, they managed to block an outstanding 28 shots and capitalized on even-strength opportunities by scoring four out of five goals during regular play.

However, consistency remains a concern for the Senators. In Denver against the Avalanche, they suffered a loss despite firing off an impressive 45 shots and maintaining solid goaltending with 33 saves. Their powerplay unit managed one goal from six opportunities but ultimately fell short in even-strength situations where they conceded three goals.

The game prior in Arizona saw another close contest where Ottawa scored early but couldn't hold onto their lead, eventually losing with a final scoreline favoring Arizona at 4-3. The Senators' physicality was on display with 26 hits and they maintained discipline by conceding only two powerplay opportunities.

As we look towards the upcoming clash, it's clear that Ottawa's offensive prowess will be crucial if they are to overcome Tampa Bay's challenge. With both teams possessing dynamic attacking capabilities, it could very well come down to which side better capitalizes on special teams and manages puck possession effectively during critical moments.

Fans can catch all the action live on February 20th at Amalie Arena or tune into ESPN+ nationally or BSSUN locally for broadcast coverage starting from puck drop time as scheduled.
