Can the Ottawa Senators Overcome the Capitals at Capital One Arena?

As the Ottawa Senators prepare to face off against the Washington Capitals at Capital One Arena, fans are eager to see if their team can carry forward the momentum from their recent performances. The upcoming game, scheduled for February 27th, will be a true test of resilience and strategy for the Senators.

Analyzing past games, it's clear that Ottawa has had a rollercoaster ride. On February 16th against Anaheim Ducks, they suffered a crushing defeat with only one goal scored compared to five by the Ducks. Despite taking 34 shots on goal and winning 46 percent of faceoffs, they were unable to convert these opportunities into points on the board.

However, just two days earlier on February 14th against Columbus Blue Jackets, Senators fans witnessed a thrilling victory where their team netted six goals from just 30 shots – an impressive shooting percentage of 20 percent. Their powerplay was particularly effective that night with two goals from five opportunities and a powerplay faceoff win percentage of 60 percent.

The most notable performance came on February 11th when facing Toronto Maple Leafs; despite being outshot by four attempts (32-34), Ottawa managed five goals – showcasing efficiency in front of net with a shooting percentage of 16 percent. They also capitalized on powerplays but showed discipline by not conceding any penalties throughout the game.

Looking ahead to their encounter with Washington Capitals at Capital One Arena presents both challenges and opportunities for OTT. The key will be converting shots into goals more consistently while maintaining discipline to avoid unnecessary penalties which could shift momentum in WSH's favor.

OTT must leverage its strengths: aggressive offense as seen against Columbus and disciplined play as demonstrated versus Toronto. They'll need strong goaltending like in previous games where save percentages were high despite facing numerous shots.

Senators' fans should expect an intense battle; however, if OTT can replicate its performance from February 14th or even February 11th rather than that of February 16th, there is every reason to believe they can emerge victorious over WSH.

The clash between Ottawa Senators and Washington Capitals is set for broadcast viewing pleasure on ESPN+ online or MNMT channel number 642 for local TV viewership at home territory. Puck drop is scheduled at Capital One Arena in Washington DC (zip code:20004) – all eyes will be watching come game time!
