The Senators have shown a mixed bag of performances in their last few outings. A close examination of past games reveals that while they managed a win against the Vegas Golden Knights in a shootout after tying in regulation and overtime, they suffered losses against both Nashville Predators and Washington Capitals. Despite these setbacks, there are positive signs; notably, their powerplay opportunities have been capitalized upon with efficiency.

In their most recent game against Nashville Predators at Bridgestone Arena, Ottawa struggled with puck possession as evidenced by a faceoff win percentage of only 44 percent. They also gave away 18 times compared to just seven takeaways and were outshot by eleven shots. However, they did manage to block an impressive number of shots (25), which could be crucial in preventing scoring opportunities for San Jose.

Defensively speaking, goaltending has been solid with save percentages holding strong – but it's clear that reducing shots against will be key to easing pressure on netminders.

Offensively, converting chances into goals is vital; shooting percentages have fluctuated but showed promise during their match-up with Vegas where they scored three goals from 33 shots.

The Senators will need to tighten up defensively while continuing to seek out those high-quality scoring chances if they hope to come out on top at SAP Center – an arena known for its energetic atmosphere which could play into the home team's advantage.

Fans can catch all the action live on ESPN+ or NBCS-CA when these two teams hit the ice this Saturday night.
