Ottawa Senators Stifled by St. Louis Blues at Enterprise Center

The Ottawa Senators, with a record of 19-17-2, faced off against the St. Louis Blues, who also had a 19-17-4 record, in what was anticipated to be a closely matched game. However, the final score of 4-0 in favor of the home team tells a story of one team's dominance over the other throughout the match.

Game Highlights

The game unfolded at the Enterprise Center in front of an enthusiastic crowd of 18,096 fans. The St. Louis Blues set the tone early on by netting two goals in the first period and adding another in the second and third periods each to secure their victory. The Senators struggled to find their rhythm offensively, managing only 20 shots on goal compared to the Blues' 25.

Defensively, both teams were aggressive but it was Ottawa that ended up on the losing side despite their efforts which included blocking 16 shots and delivering 28 hits over three periods. The Senators also had trouble with puck possession as evidenced by their faceoff win percentage of just under half at 47 percent.

Notable performances from Ottawa included goaltender Anton Forsberg who made an impressive total of 21 saves but unfortunately couldn't stop four getting past him. On offense, Shane Pinto led his team with three shots on goal but like his teammates couldn't convert any into points.

From St. Louis' side, Brandon Saad stood out as he was awarded one of the stars for his contribution during this matchup alongside Jordan Binnington and Brayden Schenn who also played pivotal roles in securing this win for their team.
