First Period

The opening period saw both teams locked in a defensive battle, with neither side managing to find the back of the net. The Senators displayed solid defensive play, blocking 12 shots and maintaining pressure on the Avs' forwards. Despite being outshot by Colorado's aggressive offense, Ottawa's goaltender Linus Ullmark stood firm between the pipes.

Second Period

As the second period unfolded, Ottawa began to find their rhythm offensively. Tim Stutzle was instrumental in breaking through Colorado's defense, contributing an assist that led to one of two goals scored by Nick Cousins and Claude Giroux during this period. The Sens capitalized on their opportunities despite facing a higher number of faceoff losses compared to their opponents.

Third Period

The final period was where Ottawa truly shone. With three goals scored in quick succession, including an impressive effort from Brady Tkachuk who returned from injury earlier this season, they effectively sealed their victory over Colorado. This offensive burst was complemented by disciplined play as they committed no penalties throughout the game.

Colorado managed to score twice during even strength but struggled against Ottawa’s robust defense and efficient goaltending from Ullmark who made crucial saves throughout all periods.
