The Flyers entered their latest matchup aiming to improve their standing but were met with an offensive onslaught from the Avalanche. Despite putting up 40 shots on goal and successfully winning 64 percent of faceoffs, Philadelphia found themselves trailing as Colorado capitalized on their opportunities by converting seven out of their 25 shots for goals. The home team's effort was evident in their physical play, registering 19 hits throughout the game.

Philadelphia's goaltender faced a challenging night between the pipes, making only 18 saves against a barrage of shots from Colorado's offense. The Avalanche managed to find success at even strength by netting six goals and added one more on powerplay chances out of two opportunities. Their shooting accuracy was notable as they achieved a shooting percentage of 28 percent compared to Philadelphia's ten percent.

On special teams play, both squads had powerplay opportunities; however, it was only Colorado that managed to capitalize on theirs. The Flyers had three chances but failed to convert any into goals despite eight shots during those powerplays.

Defensively speaking, Philadelphia blocked an impressive number of attempts by getting in front of twelve shots while also limiting giveaways to just three – showcasing their commitment to team defense despite facing adversity on the scoreboard.

Looking ahead for Philadelphia fans eager to support their team: The next game will be held at Wells Fargo Center against Ottawa Senators scheduled for January 21st at 1:00 PM Eastern Time. Fans can catch all live action broadcasted nationally on ESPN+ and locally on NBCS-PH.
