The Flyers entered the game hoping to capitalize on their home ice advantage at Wells Fargo Center. Despite their efforts, they were unable to overcome the Panthers' aggressive play. The home team's only goal came in the third period, showcasing their resilience despite trailing for most of the match. The Flyers managed to put up an impressive number of shots on goal, totaling 33 attempts but were stymied by Florida's goaltender who saved all but one shot.

Philadelphia's powerplay unit was able to convert once out of five opportunities, reflecting both persistence and an area for potential improvement. Their faceoff win percentage was slightly below even at 48 percent over the course of the game. In terms of physicality, they delivered a solid performance with a total hit count reaching into the thirties.

On defense, however, Philadelphia struggled as they allowed three goals during even-strength play while also conceding an empty-netter towards the end which sealed their fate. Their goaltender made ten saves against thirteen shots during even-strength situations but ultimately recorded a loss for his efforts.

Conversely, Florida demonstrated efficiency in front of goal with a shooting percentage that stood out starkly compared to Philadelphia’s effort; they scored four times from just fifteen shots on target. They also edged out in faceoffs won and displayed discipline by giving away fewer penalties than their counterparts.
