Flyers Aim to Clip Canadiens' Wings in Bell Centre Encounter

As the Philadelphia Flyers prepare to face off against the Montreal Canadiens at the Bell Centre, fans are eager for a glimpse of redemption. The Flyers' recent performance has been a mixed bag, but there's reason to believe they could turn the tide in their upcoming game scheduled for April 9.

In their last encounter with the New York Islanders on April 1, Philadelphia put up a valiant fight but ultimately fell short in overtime with a score of 3-4. Despite this setback, there were positive takeaways from that game. The Flyers demonstrated resilience and an ability to keep pace with their opponents throughout regulation time. Their goaltending was particularly impressive; saving every shot faced during power plays and shorthanded situations reflects well on their defensive capabilities.

However, it's clear that special teams need improvement. With zero goals on two powerplay opportunities against the Islanders and only managing a faceoff win percentage of 40 percent during those moments is something that will need addressing before facing Montreal.

The Canadiens have had their own struggles as well; they've shown vulnerability despite winning against Philadelphia in their last matchup on March 28 by a score of 4-1. That victory may not be as solid as it seems – two of those goals were empty-netters which inflated the final scoreline.

Philadelphia's even-strength play has been more promising than what statistics might suggest at first glance. They managed three even-strength goals against New York and held strong defensively at full strength during previous games too.

Montreal should not underestimate PHI's ability to bounce back after tough losses – especially considering how close many of these games have been for them. It’s worth noting that while MTL did secure wins recently, they've also allowed significant shots on goal from opponents – something PHI could potentially exploit if they maintain offensive pressure consistently throughout all periods.

Looking ahead to April 9 at Bell Centre, fans can expect an intense battle between these two teams who are both looking to assert dominance late in the season. For Flyers supporters hoping for victory away from home soil, keeping an eye on how effectively Philadelphia can capitalize on powerplay chances while maintaining solid defense will be key factors influencing this clash's outcome.

The puck drops at 7:00 PM EDT and fans won't want to miss out as ESPN+ will stream this exciting matchup online while NBCS-PH+ provides television coverage for local viewers ready to cheer on their team towards what could be a pivotal win in Canadian territory.
