The Penguins have shown a mixed bag of results in their past few games. Despite a tough overtime loss against the Ottawa Senators where they scored four goals and had a shooting percentage of 12 percent, they demonstrated resilience by maintaining a faceoff win percentage of 59 percent. Their powerplay opportunities were plentiful with seven chances but only capitalized on one.

In another recent game against the Carolina Hurricanes, the Penguins secured a win in a shootout after both teams remained locked at one goal each through regulation and overtime. The team's goaltending was particularly impressive with a save percentage of 96 percent. However, their powerplay didn't convert any of their five opportunities despite eight shots on goal.

Against the Minnesota Wild, Pittsburgh came out on top with four goals to three. They excelled in powerplay situations scoring two goals from five opportunities and showed strong faceoff performance with nearly 58 percent wins.

The upcoming game is expected to be challenging as both teams vie for victory at PPG Paints Arena – known for its energetic atmosphere that could give an edge to the home side. The Canadiens will not make it easy; however, if recent trends are anything to go by, it's clear that special teams' performance could be pivotal for Pittsburgh.

Fans can catch this thrilling encounter live on ESPN+ or SportsNet PT when these two storied franchises clash in what promises to be an enthralling hockey night in Pittsburgh.
