The Penguins faced a challenging opponent in Seattle's Climate Pledge Arena. Despite generating 33 shots on goal and blocking an impressive 11 attempts by their opponents, they could not capitalize on their opportunities. The powerplay unit had three chances to score but failed to convert any of them into goals despite taking seven shots during these advantages.

Pittsburgh's penalty kill was put to work four times throughout the contest and managed to hold strong for most of it, conceding only one goal while shorthanded. Their defense was active in front of their goaltender who made a total of 26 saves during the game. However, this solid defensive effort wasn't enough as Pittsburgh struggled offensively.
