They also had four powerplay opportunities but failed to capitalize on any of them. However, they were successful in winning fifty-one percent of faceoffs which gave them slight control over puck possession.


Defensively, both teams showed similar statistics; each blocked thirteen attempts from their opponents while the Sharks registered eleven takeaways compared to seven by the Kings.
