Game Highlights

The game began without any points scored in the first period by the Sharks, while the Avalanche managed to sneak in one goal. The second period saw a shift in momentum as San Jose netted two goals, momentarily giving them an edge. However, their lead was short-lived as Colorado dominated the third period with three goals, sealing their win.

San Jose's effort was evident through their shot attempts totaling 34 compared to Colorado's 31. Despite this slight advantage in shots on goal, it wasn't enough to secure a win for the Sharks. The team struggled on power plays failing to convert any of their four opportunities into goals.

Player Performances

Amongst individual performances for San Jose, William Eklund and Carl Grundstrom stood out despite the loss. Eklund scored one goal from his only shot attempt during his nearly 21 minutes on ice and contributed defensively with one hit and two takeaways. Grundstrom also made his presence known by scoring once from his single shot attempt and playing just under eight minutes.

Luke Kunin contributed significantly without scoring by assisting twice and maintaining a plus-minus rating of +2 throughout his time on ice. On defense, Jake Walman led with three hits alongside contributing defensively during his nearly 23 minutes played.

For Colorado Avalanche Joel Kiviranta was highlighted as one of the stars of the game thanks to impactful play that contributed directly to their victory.
