First Period

The opening period saw both teams locked in a defensive battle, with neither side managing to find the back of the net. The Sharks demonstrated their physicality early on, delivering 25 hits compared to Vegas's 16. Despite this aggressive play, both teams remained scoreless as they headed into intermission.

Second Period

In the second period, Dmitry Orlov broke through for San Jose with an even-strength goal assisted by Alexander Wennberg and Ethan Cardwell. This marked Orlov's first goal of this season and gave hope to Sharks fans that their team might seize control of the game. However, Lukas Cormier from Vegas responded quickly with a power-play goal that tied up the match at one apiece.

Third Period

As tensions mounted in the third period, it was evident that every play could be pivotal. The Golden Knights capitalized on one such opportunity when they scored another even-strength goal late in this segment. The Sharks' goaltender Yaroslav Askarov made an impressive total of 27 saves throughout but couldn't prevent this decisive strike from slipping past him.

Despite their efforts and strong defense led by players like Mario Ferraro who contributed significantly with his eight hits during gameplay - ultimately it wasn't enough for San Jose as they fell short against their opponents once more.
