First Period


The game kicked off with both teams displaying strong offensive plays. The first period saw each team netting a goal, setting an intense pace for what was to come. Tyler Toffoli of the Sharks made his presence felt early on, contributing significantly to his team's efforts.


Second Period


In the second period, defense took center stage as neither team managed to score. Both goaltenders were tested repeatedly but stood firm under pressure. Yaroslav Askarov of the Sharks made crucial saves that kept his team in contention.

Third Period


The third period turned into a scoring frenzy with both teams finding their rhythm offensively. The Penguins managed three goals during this time, showcasing their powerplay prowess by converting three out of five opportunities. However, it was Macklin Celebrini's standout performance for the Sharks that stole the spotlight as he contributed one goal and two assists.


Overtime


As regulation time ended with both teams tied at 5-5, overtime became inevitable. It was John Klingberg who delivered for San Jose by scoring an overtime goal that sealed their victory over Pittsburgh.
