San Jose Sharks' Powerplay Struggles as Seattle Kraken Triumph at SAP Center

First Period


The San Jose Sharks, with a record of 17-16-3, faced off against the Seattle Kraken, who held a 13-14-6 record. The first period saw both teams locked in a defensive battle with neither side managing to score. The Sharks had several opportunities but were unable to capitalize on their chances. Second Period


In the second period, the game began to open up. The Kraken struck first with a goal that put them ahead. Despite this setback, the Sharks responded with Macklin Celebrini assisting on a powerplay goal that tied the game at 1-1. However, Seattle regained their lead shortly after and ended the period leading 2-1.


Third Period


The third period was decisive for both teams. San Jose managed to score once more thanks to Collin Graf's efforts, bringing some hope of leveling the match again. Yet it was not enough as Seattle scored twice more in this final stretch of play, including an empty-netter that sealed their victory over San Jose by a final score of 4-2.

A key factor in this matchup was San Jose's struggle on special teams despite having four powerplay opportunities and scoring only once from eight shots during these chances.
