Kraken Set to Tame Senators in Upcoming Clash at Climate Pledge Arena

Looking back at the Kraken's previous game against the Vegas Golden Knights on January 1st, it was a display of defensive prowess and goaltending excellence that led them to a shutout victory. The team's ability to keep their net untouched while scoring three goals is an indicator of their balanced strength. With 30 hits and 20 blocked shots in that game, they showed physicality and resilience.

The powerplay unit didn't find the back of the net during that match-up but considering they only had one opportunity, it's hard to judge its effectiveness solely based on this statistic. However, with two powerplay goals in their overtime win against Philadelphia Flyers on December 30th – where they also showcased an impressive faceoff win percentage of 60 percent – there is evidence that when given more chances, they can capitalize.

Seattle's goaltending has been nothing short of spectacular as well. In both mentioned games combined, the Kraken goalies stopped an incredible total of 62 out of 63 shots faced – boasting a save percentage rounding up to perfection. This kind of performance between the pipes gives any team confidence going into future games.

On offense, even-strength play has been fruitful for Seattle; all five goals scored across these two games were during even-strength situations which speaks volumes about their ability to create opportunities without relying solely on special teams.

The Senators will need more than just political strategy if they hope to conquer this sea beast. Despite being visitors and not having recent game data available for analysis here, it’s known league-wide that any team facing off against Seattle must bring its best game or risk being swallowed whole by the tidal wave momentum currently carrying SEA forward.

Fans should expect another strong showing from SEA as they look poised for another victory based on recent performances. Their blend of solid defense backed by stellar goaltending and opportunistic scoring makes them favorites heading into this matchup against OTT.

Mark your calendars for January 5th when these two teams will face off at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle at 7:00 PM local time (10:00 PM EST). Fans can catch all the action live nationally via ESPN+ or locally through ROOT Sports NW channel number 687.
