The match at Climate Pledge Arena saw the Kraken battle fiercely against the Capitals. Despite outshooting their opponents with a total of 24 shots to Washington's 23, Seattle could not capitalize on their opportunities as much as they hoped. The home team managed to convert one out of three powerplays into a goal, showcasing an impressive powerplay faceoff win percentage of 80 percent.

On the other side of the ice, the Capitals made significant use of their chances despite fewer shots on goal. They scored one even-strength goal and capitalized on one out of four powerplays. Their shooting accuracy stood at nine percent compared to Seattle's four percent.

The Kraken were more disciplined in maintaining puck possession as evidenced by winning more faceoffs overall – achieving a faceoff win percentage of 56 percent over Washington's 44 percent. However, this did not translate into goals scored during even-strength play where both teams held firm defensively.

Seattle’s goaltender put up an admirable performance with a save percentage rounding up to an excellent hundred percent but ultimately allowed two goals past him which decided the game’s outcome. On defense, both teams were equally matched with each blocking fifteen shots throughout the game.

Despite taking fewer penalties than their opponents – accruing eight penalty minutes compared to six for Washington – it was not enough for Seattle to secure victory on home ice before an attendance that slightly exceeded Climate Pledge Arena's capacity at seventeen thousand one hundred fifty-one fans cheering them on.

Looking ahead after this close contest, fans can catch the next game featuring Seattle Kraken as they host Nashville Predators at Climate Pledge Arena located in Seattle WA (zip code:98109). This upcoming match is scheduled for March seventeenth and will be broadcasted across various networks including ESPN+ online and BSSO and ROOT Sports NW for television viewers starting from seven o'clock Pacific Time.
