Kraken Stifled by Stars: Dallas Secures 3-0 Victory in Seattle Showdown

The Seattle Kraken, with a record of 0-1, faced off against the Dallas Stars who improved to 1-0 after securing a decisive 3-0 victory. The game, which took place at Climate Pledge Arena, saw the home team struggle to find the back of the net despite their efforts.

The Kraken entered the game with energy and determination but were met with an equally determined Stars defense. Throughout the match, Seattle's offense was unable to capitalize on their opportunities, reflected in their zero goals from seventeen shots. Despite a higher number of hits (23 compared to Dallas' 14), it wasn't enough to translate into points on the scoreboard for the Kraken.

On special teams play, both teams had two powerplay opportunities; however, only the Stars managed to convert one of theirs into a goal. This powerplay success contributed significantly to their overall win as they demonstrated efficiency by scoring once from six shots during these man-advantage situations.

Defensively speaking, Seattle's goaltender saved 27 out of 29 shots during regular play but was eventually beaten twice and once more on an empty net goal. In contrast, Dallas' goalie put up an impenetrable front stopping all seventeen shots faced throughout regular time and maintaining a perfect save percentage.

Faceoffs were another area where Dallas showed dominance winning 61 percent compared to Seattle's 39 percent. This control over faceoffs allowed them more possession and ultimately contributed towards their victory.

As for individual performances from The Kraken side – there weren’t any points or assists recorded which is something they would look forward to improving in upcoming games. On defense though they did manage nineteen blocked shots showing some resilience despite being under pressure for most parts of the game.

Looking ahead after this tough loss at home, The Kraken will be hitting the road for their next challenge against San Jose Sharks at SAP Center at San Jose. Fans can catch this upcoming match live on April 1st at 7:30 PM PT through various broadcast networks including ESPN+, NBCS-CA and ROOT Sports NW.
