Seattle Kraken Overwhelm San Jose Sharks: Can They Keep the Momentum?

The Seattle Kraken, with a 4-2 victory, showcased their dominance over the San Jose Sharks. The Kraken's season record now stands at an impressive 4-0, while the Sharks slip to a less fortunate 1-3.

The game at SAP Center at San Jose witnessed the Kraken unleashing a powerful offensive display in the first period with three goals that set a formidable tone for the rest of the matchup. The team's shooting accuracy was on point, with a shooting percentage of 12 percent from their total of 32 shots. Their aggressive play resulted in eight hits and five takeaways, emphasizing their control over the puck throughout.

Seattle's goaltender played an integral role in securing this win by saving all but two of the 26 shots he faced, boasting an impeccable save percentage of 100 percent during even strength play. This defensive prowess was complemented by an equally impressive offensive performance that saw seven assists contributing to four goals scored by Seattle.

Despite not capitalizing on powerplay opportunities – missing all four shots during two chances – Seattle maintained pressure on San Jose through consistent even-strength play where they scored all four goals. An empty net goal sealed their victory late in the third period.

On defense, Seattle blocked a substantial number of attempts from San Jose with 18 blocked shots and only allowed two penalties which did not result in any powerplay goals for San Jose. In contrast, while winning more faceoffs than Seattle with a faceoff win percentage of 57 percent and delivering more hits (22), it wasn't enough for The Sharks to turn around their fortunes.

San Jose managed to score one powerplay goal out of two opportunities but struggled to find consistency against Seattle’s solid defense line-up. Their goaltender made numerous saves as well but ultimately conceded three times during even strength and once into an empty net.

As fans look ahead after this commanding performance by Seattle Kraken, attention turns towards their next challenge against Los Angeles Kings at Crypto.com Arena on April 3rd at 6:30 PM PDT. Fans can catch this upcoming game live on Max TV network as The Kraken aim to continue their winning streak away from home soil.
