Seattle Kraken Primed to Surge Past Arizona Coyotes in Home Ice Showdown

As the Seattle Kraken prepare to host the Arizona Coyotes at Climate Pledge Arena, fans are buzzing with anticipation for what promises to be a thrilling encounter. The Kraken's recent performance has been a rollercoaster of highs and lows, but they're looking to solidify their standing with a decisive victory.

In their last game on April 2nd against the San Jose Sharks, the Kraken showcased an impressive offensive display, netting four goals on 32 shots. Their shooting percentage stood at 12 percent as they dominated the first period with three goals and sealed their win with another in the third. This kind of scoring prowess will be crucial against the Coyotes.

However, it wasn't just about scoring; defensively, they were almost impenetrable. The goaltending was exceptional with a save percentage of 100 percent against 26 shots. This defensive solidity will need to be replicated as they face off against ARI.

The powerplay unit didn't manage to convert any opportunities into goals during that game but still showed potential by taking four shots during two powerplays. If SEA can sharpen this aspect of their play before facing ARI, it could tip the scales in their favor.

Conversely, when looking at SEA's performance on March 31st versus Dallas Stars where they suffered a shutout loss without registering a single goal despite having two powerplay chances indicates some inconsistency that needs addressing. They'll have to bounce back from this and find ways to penetrate ARI's defense if they want those crucial points.

Special teams might just be where SEA can gain an edge over ARI; in their March 29th game against Anaheim Ducks, SEA capitalized on powerplay opportunities by scoring three out of ten times which contributed significantly to their victory.

The upcoming match is not just about maintaining momentum for Seattle Kraken but also about proving that setbacks like those experienced against Dallas are merely blips in an otherwise upward trajectory this season.

Fans eager for action can catch this clash live on ESPN+, ROOT Sports NW or SCRIPPS come April 10th at Climate Pledge Arena – puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 PM PT. With home advantage and recent form suggesting an edge over Arizona Coyotes, Seattle Kraken have every reason to aim for triumph as fans fill up one of hockey’s most energetic venues under Seattle’s skyline.
