Will the Seattle Kraken Surge Past the Minnesota Wild at Xcel Energy Center?

As the Seattle Kraken prepare to face off against the Minnesota Wild at Xcel Energy Center, fans are eager to see if their team can carry forward their recent momentum. The Kraken's performance in their last game on April 2nd against the San Jose Sharks was nothing short of dominant, with a final score of 4-2 in favor of SEA. They managed to net three goals in the first period alone and added another in the third, showcasing an aggressive offense that could spell trouble for MIN.

The statistics from that game paint a picture of a well-rounded team effort. The Kraken had 32 shots on goal with a shooting percentage of 12 percent and blocked an impressive 18 shots, indicating strong defensive play as well. Their goaltender saved all but two of the 26 shots faced, boasting a perfect save percentage during even-strength play.

However, it wasn't all smooth sailing for SEA recently. In stark contrast to their victory over San Jose was their March 31st encounter with Dallas Stars where they failed to score any points despite taking 17 shots at goal and winning nearly half (39 percent) of faceoffs. This inconsistency is something they'll need to address before facing MIN.

The Minnesota Wild will not be easy opponents; they have shown resilience and skill throughout this season. But given SEA's ability to bounce back from setbacks as seen in their game on March 29th against Anaheim Ducks where they scored four goals after being held scoreless until late into second period shows that this team has grit.

Special teams could be crucial in this upcoming match-up; while SEA struggled on powerplays during their loss against Dallas Stars (0 percent success rate), they excelled against Ducks by capitalizing three times out of ten opportunities (30 percent). If SEA can harness this aspect of their game once more, it may give them an edge over MIN who will undoubtedly put up a fierce fight.

Fans should expect an intense battle come April 18th when these two teams clash at Xcel Energy Center at 6:00 PM CT. With both teams having strengths and weaknesses exposed in recent games, it will likely come down to which side can better exploit each other's shortcomings while reinforcing its own gameplay strategies.

Seattle Kraken supporters can catch all the action live on ESPN or join fellow fans at local venues across Seattle for what promises to be an electrifying night of hockey competition.
