First Period

The game began with both teams testing each other's defenses. The Capitals managed to break through first, scoring a goal that set the tone for their offensive strategy. Despite several attempts by Seattle, they were unable to find the back of the net in this period.

Second Period

Washington capitalized on their momentum and added two more goals in this period. The Kraken struggled to maintain possession and were unable to convert any powerplay opportunities into goals. Matt Murray made crucial saves for Seattle but couldn't prevent all shots from slipping past.

Third Period

Seattle showed resilience as Jaden Schwartz scored their only goal late in the third period, assisted by Ben Meyers. This was part of an aggressive push by Seattle that saw them outshoot Washington during this stretch. However, it wasn't enough as an empty-netter by Washington sealed their victory.

In terms of individual performances, Matt Murray stood out for Seattle with 30 saves despite conceding four goals throughout the match. For Washington, Jakob Chychrun was instrumental on defense and contributed significantly to his team's success.

The post game analysis highlighted missed opportunities for Seattle during powerplays as a key factor in their defeat. According to Seattle Kraken coach post-game reaction, there is room for improvement especially in maintaining pressure throughout all periods.

Fans can look forward to seeing how these adjustments play out when Seattle takes on Winnipeg Jets next at Canada Life Centre on October 23rd at 8:00 PM EDT. The game will be available for viewing via ESPN+, KHN TV network along with King 5 and KONG channels.
