First Period

The opening period saw both teams locked in a defensive battle, with neither side managing to score. The Kraken displayed solid defense with players like Adam Larsson contributing significantly in blocking shots and maintaining pressure on the Mammoth forwards. Despite their efforts, they couldn't capitalize on scoring opportunities.

Second Period

In the second period, Seattle managed to break through with a goal from Mason Marchment, who showcased his offensive skills by finding the back of the net after an assist from Chandler Stephenson. However, Utah responded quickly with two goals of their own, taking advantage of powerplay opportunities that tested Philipp Grubauer’s goaltending capabilities.

Third Period

As the third period unfolded, Seattle fought hard but struggled defensively as Utah extended their lead with three more goals. Matty Beniers and Frederick Gaudreau attempted to rally for Seattle by creating scoring chances but were met by strong resistance from Karel Vejmelka in goal for Utah. Despite outshooting their opponents 36-32 overall and winning faceoffs at a rate of 52 percent during powerplays, it wasn't enough for Seattle to secure victory.

The post game analysis highlighted key areas where improvements are needed for Seattle's defense as they prepare for future matchups. In post-game interviews, players emphasized learning from this experience and focusing on upcoming games.
