First Period

The first period saw both teams testing each other's defenses, but it was Seattle who managed to break through first. A powerplay opportunity allowed the Kraken to capitalize with their opening goal, setting the tone for an aggressive offensive strategy. Despite being out-hit by the Nucks, who recorded 26 hits compared to Seattle's 13, the visitors maintained their composure and focus.

Second Period

In the second period, both teams ramped up their efforts on offense. The Canucks responded strongly with two goals during this segment, showcasing their prowess on powerplays by converting two out of three opportunities into goals. However, Seattle matched this intensity as they netted two even-strength goals themselves. Matty Beniers played a crucial role in maintaining pressure on Vancouver’s defense.

Third Period

As tensions rose in the third period, Vancouver managed to level things up with another goal. The defensive units from both sides were put under immense pressure as they tried to fend off relentless attacks from each other’s forwards. Joey Daccord stood firm for Seattle between the pipes with key saves that kept his team within reach of victory.

Overtime and Shootout

With neither team able to secure a decisive lead during overtime despite several attempts on goal—Seattle had three shots—the match proceeded into a shootout where fortunes would be decided by individual brilliance rather than collective play.
