The St. Louis Blues demonstrated resilience throughout the match, delivering 36 hits and blocking 16 shots in their defensive efforts. Despite these efforts, they were outscored by the home team in each period, managing to net only two goals on 28 shots for a shooting percentage of seven percent. The team's faceoff win percentage hovered just below half at 49 percent, winning 26 out of 53 faceoffs.

On offense, the Blues were unable to capitalize on their two powerplay opportunities and did not convert any goals during these chances despite taking six shots while having a man advantage. Their penalty kill was tested as well; they faced four powerplays against them and conceded two goals during those times.

The goaltending for St. Louis had its moments but struggled overall against an aggressive Pittsburgh offense that took 38 shots in total. The Blues' goalie saved 32 shots but allowed five goals during play and one additional goal on an empty net when trying to catch up late in the game.

The Pittsburgh Penguins showed strong offensive capabilities throughout their home game performance with six different players scoring goals contributing to their total of six points for this match-up alone. They also capitalized on special teams play by scoring twice during their four powerplay opportunities which proved crucial in establishing their lead early on.

As fans look ahead, they can mark their calendars for an upcoming challenge as the St. Louis Blues will take on New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden scheduled for December sixth at midnight UTC time (7 PM Eastern Time).
