In a game that saw both teams exhibit strong defensive plays and goaltending, the Blues managed to capitalize on their even-strength opportunities. The Blues' offense was efficient with a shooting percentage of 10 percent compared to the Kings' more modest rate of 2 percent. Despite being outshot by the Kings with a total shot count of 41 to 30, it was the quality over quantity that prevailed for the home side.

The goaltending for both teams was exceptional throughout the match. The Blues' netminder saved an impressive total of 40 shots out of 41 attempts which played a crucial role in securing their win. On the other end, despite making fewer saves with a total count of 27 out of 30 shots faced, the Kings' goalie showed resilience against an aggressive St. Louis offense.

Special teams did not make much impact during this encounter as neither team managed to convert on powerplay opportunities; both squads had two chances but failed to score any powerplay goals. However, it's worth noting that even when shorthanded, both goalies kept their composure and prevented any goals from being scored.

Physicality was also present in this evenly matched contest as hits were aplenty; The Blues delivered a solid number with twenty-three hits while Los Angeles wasn't far behind with twenty-nine hits throughout three periods.
