The game at Canadian Tire Centre saw the St. Louis Blues come out swinging, netting two goals in the first period and maintaining their lead throughout the game. The team's shooting accuracy was on display as they achieved an impressive 18 percent shooting percentage from their total of 27 shots on goal.

The second period added another goal to the Blues' tally before they sealed their dominance with two additional goals in the third period. One of these was an empty-netter that underscored their control over the game's pace and flow.

Defensively, St. Louis was just as formidable; goaltending proved to be a cornerstone of their success with a perfect save percentage, turning away all but two of Ottawa's 39 shots on goal during regular play time.

On offense, six assists were distributed among players showcasing teamwork that contributed significantly to each scoring opportunity created by even strength plays which accounted for all five goals scored by St. Louis.

Despite being outdone in faceoffs won by Ottawa who had a slight edge with 53 percent success rate compared to St. Louis' 47 percent, it did not deter them from executing effective plays and maintaining pressure throughout all three periods.

Penalty minutes were kept low by both teams; however, it was notable that St. Louis managed to keep themselves disciplined enough not to concede any powerplay opportunities due to major or misconduct penalties.

Looking ahead for fans of The Blues: Their next challenge will be against Minnesota Wild at Xcel Energy Center in Saint Paul on March 23rd at around 1:00 PM CT where fans can catch action live through various broadcast networks including ESPN+ online and BSMW TV network among others.
