Throughout regulation time, both teams were locked in a stalemate until the third period when the Blues managed to break through with an even-strength goal that brought life into the Enterprise Center crowd. However, discipline was an issue for both sides as each incurred nine penalty minutes from three penalties throughout the game – including one major penalty each – but neither team could capitalize on these powerplay opportunities.
