Conversely, despite a valiant effort from Chicago's side which saw them score two even-strength goals and maintain close shot numbers at twenty attempts—ten percent finding its mark—their offense could not match up against St. Louis' defense which blocked ten shots effectively.

In goaltending duties for both teams showed resilience; however, it was St. Louis' netminder who emerged victorious with eighteen saves from twenty shots faced—an impressive save percentage that played a crucial role in securing victory for his team.
