Analyzing St. Louis Blues' Performance

The previous season's statistics provide a mixed bag of insights into the St. Louis Blues' performance. With an overall shooting percentage of 10 percent and a faceoff win percentage standing at an even 50 percent across 82 games played, the team demonstrated average efficiency in controlling the puck and converting shots into goals. They managed to net a total of 234 goals from 2370 shots but struggled defensively as evidenced by their minus-99 plus-minus rating.

On special teams, the power play unit scored 45 goals from 362 shots with an effectiveness rate of 18 percent while maintaining a higher faceoff win percentage in these situations at 57 percent. However, their penalty kill faced challenges throughout the season with only a 79 percent success rate and less dominance in shorthanded faceoffs (47 percent win rate).

Despite these hurdles, goaltending was a bright spot with goalies amassing an impressive number of saves leading to a save percentage rounding up to approximately one hundred percent and contributing significantly towards their wins.

Looking Ahead: Strategies and Expectations

Given last season's performance metrics such as average assists per game (4.89), blocked shots (14.87), points (7.74), hits (20.17), takeaways (8.85), giveaways (7.57), along with penalties which averaged over three per game; it's clear that discipline on ice will be crucial for St Louis Blues against Seattle Kraken's aggressive play style.

Improving their defensive gameplay will also be key if they wish to counteract their negative plus-minus rating from last season effectively while leveraging strong goaltending performances could provide them with much-needed stability at the back.

Fans can expect both teams to bring intense energy and strategic gameplay as they vie for victory at Climate Pledge Arena this coming October.
