First Period

The game began with both teams showing strong defensive play, but it was Brayden Schenn who managed to break through for the Blues with an early goal. However, this lead was short-lived as Dylan Larkin of the Red Wings responded swiftly with two goals in succession, setting an aggressive tone for Detroit.

Second Period

As play resumed, the second period saw no goals from St. Louis despite their efforts and attempts on goal. The Red Wings capitalized on their opportunities with Alex DeBrincat adding another point to their tally during a powerplay situation. The Blue Note struggled to maintain possession and convert chances into goals.

Third Period

In an attempt to rally back in the third period, Jordan Kyrou found success by scoring for St. Louis after receiving an assist from Pius Suter. Despite this effort, Detroit's defense remained steadfast and they sealed their victory with another goal from even strength play followed by an empty-netter towards game end.

Throughout this match-up, what went wrong for St. Louis Blues was evident in key moments where missed shots and giveaways hindered their progress against a formidable opponent like Detroit.
