First Period

The game began with a promising start for the Blues as Brayden Schenn found the back of the net, giving his team an early lead. The goal was assisted by Justin Faulk and Pavel Buchnevich, showcasing their ability to capitalize on even-strength opportunities. Despite being outshot by one attempt in this period, Joel Hofer's goaltending kept them ahead with crucial saves.

Second Period

As play resumed in the second period, both teams struggled to gain an advantage offensively. The Rangers managed to equalize with a goal from Alexis Lafreniere, who would later be named one of the game's stars. The Blues' powerplay unit had several opportunities but failed to convert any into goals despite having four chances throughout this period.

Third Period

In a tense third period, Dylan Holloway scored for St. Louis after receiving an assist from Philip Broberg and Colton Parayko, briefly putting them back on level terms with New York at 2-2. However, Vincent Trocheck's decisive goal sealed victory for Broadway Blues late into regulation time.

Despite their efforts and maintaining slightly more possession through faceoff wins (52 percent), it was not enough against a resilient home side that capitalized better during critical moments of play—especially when considering how evenly matched both teams were statistically overall (shots: STL -21; NYR -20).
