From the initial puck drop, the Lightning took control of the game. The first period saw them notch one goal to set the tone for what would be an assertive display of hockey. As they entered into the second period, their momentum surged leading to an impressive three additional goals. By this time, it was evident that Tampa Bay was dictating play on both ends of the ice.

The statistics reflected Tampa Bay's dominance throughout each period. They managed to outshoot their opponents with a total of 32 shots on goal compared to Colorado's 30 attempts. Moreover, their shooting accuracy was superior; they boasted a shooting percentage of approximately 16 percent while maintaining strong defensive play that rendered Colorado's efforts ineffective at zero percent.

Special teams played a pivotal role in this matchup as well. The Lightning capitalized on power plays by scoring two goals out of three opportunities and demonstrated exceptional penalty killing by not allowing any goals during shorthanded situations.

Faceoffs were another area where Tampa Bay excelled; winning around 69 percent compared to just about 31 percent for Colorado proved crucial in controlling game flow and possession times.

Defensively, goaltending was impeccable for Tampa Bay as they recorded a perfect save percentage across all strength conditions—powerplay included—denying all 30 shots faced from Colorado's offense.

On top of solid goaltending and disciplined play which only incurred four penalties amounting to fourteen minutes in penalty time (as opposed to twenty-six minutes for Colorado), takeaways also highlighted Tampa Bay’s active defense with thirteen takeaways during gameplay.

As fans revel in this commanding victory by their beloved team at full capacity attendance within Amalie Arena’s walls, attention now turns towards future contests on schedule.

Looking ahead after such an emphatic win at home soil, fans can catch The Tampa Bay Lightning next as they travel away from home turf towards American Airlines Center located in Dallas where they will face off against Dallas Stars. This upcoming encounter is scheduled for February 11th and will be broadcasted nationally so fans can tune into ABC or stream via ESPN+ starting from around six o'clock Eastern Time.
