The match at Mullett Arena saw both teams exhibit remarkable goaltending as neither side managed to find the back of the net during regular play or overtime. The Tampa Bay Lightning unleashed a barrage of 47 shots on goal but were stonewalled by Arizona's goaltender who saved every attempt. Despite their aggressive offense, which included 12 powerplay shots out of five opportunities, Tampa Bay could not capitalize on their man advantage.

The defensive effort from Tampa Bay was equally impressive with their goalie making all 26 saves throughout regulation and overtime play. However, during the decisive shootout phase, they conceded two goals while only managing to score one themselves despite three attempts.

The physicality on ice was evident as well with Tampa Bay dishing out 20 hits over the course of play. They also blocked an admirable number of shots (14) while attempting to keep Arizona's scoring chances to a minimum. Faceoffs were closely contested; however, Tampa Bay won just under half (23) against Arizona's tally (25).

Arizona Coyotes' resilience shone through despite being shorthanded five times due to penalties totaling ten minutes. Their penalty kill unit worked tirelessly blocking all twelve powerplay shots they faced from Tampa Bay and even managed one shot while being a player down.
