From the opening faceoff, the Lightning set an aggressive pace. They scored once in each period, showcasing their offensive consistency throughout the game. The team's shooting percentage was an impressive 17 percent as they managed to put three out of their total 18 shots past the Red Wings' goaltender. An empty net goal by Tampa Bay further sealed their victory.

The Lightning's defense and goaltending were equally formidable; they blocked a total of 29 shots and recorded a perfect save percentage with their goalie stopping all 45 shots faced from Detroit. This defensive effort contributed to an overall plus-minus rating of +15 for Tampa Bay.

Special teams played a role but did not dominate as both teams failed to capitalize on powerplay opportunities; Tampa Bay had two chances while Detroit had four, yet neither side could convert these into goals.

In terms of physical play, both teams matched each other with nine hits apiece. However, Tampa Bay was more disciplined with only four penalties compared to Detroit's two which resulted in eight penalty minutes for the Lightning and half that for the Red Wings.

Faceoffs were nearly even throughout the contest with Tampa Bay winning slightly over half at approximately 52 percent success rate against Detroit's roughly 48 percent. This small edge helped control possession and ultimately contributed to maintaining pressure on their opponents.

As fans look ahead, they can catch the next game featuring Tampa Bay Lightning as they visit Pittsburgh Penguins at PPG Paints Arena on February 26th at 6:00 PM Eastern Time. The match will be broadcasted nationally on NHL Network channel 215 and regionally on BSSUN channel 653 among other networks for international viewers.
