In an intense battle at TD Garden, the Lightning demonstrated resilience and skill. The game began with the Lightning taking an early lead by scoring once in the first period. They maintained their momentum into the second period by adding another goal to their tally. Despite not scoring in the third period and overtime, they triumphed in the shootout with one successful shot out of two attempts while their goaltender saved all three shots faced.

The Lightning's goaltending was impeccable throughout the game; saving all nine shorthanded shots faced and achieving a perfect save percentage during even strength play by stopping twenty-seven shots. Their defense contributed significantly as well by blocking nineteen shots over regulation time and overtime.

Offensively, Tampa Bay's powerplay unit capitalized on one of their three opportunities thanks to six shots taken during those chances. Even strength play saw them netting one goal from sixteen shots while also assisting twice on goals scored during this phase of play.

On faceoffs, both teams were nearly evenly matched with Tampa Bay winning forty-nine percent over fifty-five faceoffs compared to Boston's fifty-one percent success rate. However, it was Tampa Bay's ability to convert when it mattered most that ultimately secured them victory.

Boston showcased strong gameplay as well despite falling short in this contest. They managed two goals from thirty-eight total shots reflecting a shooting percentage of five percent but could not find success during six powerplay opportunities despite nine powerplay shots taken.

Looking ahead for fans of Tampa Bay Lightning is another exciting matchup scheduled for February 16th against Colorado Avalanche at Amalie Arena which will be broadcasted nationally on ESPN+ and locally on BSSUN channel 653 or ALT channel 681 starting at midnight Eastern Time.
