The Lightning showcased an impressive offensive display at Amalie Arena, much to the delight of the full-capacity crowd of 19,092 fans. The first period set the tone for what was to come as Tampa Bay netted two goals early on. Despite not adding to their tally in the second period, it was during the final third that they truly dominated by scoring four more times.

Tampa Bay's shooting accuracy was notable throughout the game with a shooting percentage of fifteen percent compared to Colorado's ten percent. This sharpshooting contributed significantly to their six goals from thirty-nine shots on goal. Moreover, two empty-net goals sealed their dominance over Colorado.

On defense, Tampa Bay also outperformed their opponents with twenty-six hits and seventeen blocked shots indicating a robust physical presence on ice that complemented their offensive surge. Their goaltender played an integral role by saving twenty-eight out of thirty-one shots directed at him during regulation time.

Colorado did manage three goals from thirty-one shots but struggled in faceoffs winning only forty-three percent compared to Tampa Bay's fifty-seven percent success rate which allowed them better control over puck possession throughout most of the match.
