Tampa Bay Lightning Set to Strike at Amalie Arena Against Montreal Canadiens

As the Tampa Bay Lightning prepare to face off against the Montreal Canadiens at Amalie Arena, fans are bracing for what promises to be an electrifying match. The Lightning's recent performance has been a rollercoaster of highs and lows, but they're looking to harness their home-ice advantage and strike back after a series of challenging games.

In their last encounter with the Ottawa Senators on February 20th, TB fell short with a final score of 4-2. Despite this loss, there were positive takeaways: the Lightning demonstrated resilience in even-strength play and managed to outperform the Senators in faceoff win percentage at 52 percent. However, they'll need more than just strong faceoff skills against MTL.

The game against the Florida Panthers on February 17th exposed some defensive vulnerabilities for TB as they conceded nine goals. While their powerplay unit showed promise by converting one opportunity into a goal, it was overshadowed by the Panthers' overwhelming offense that night.

However, not all is bleak for Tampa Bay fans. A shining moment came during their game against the Colorado Avalanche on February 16th when TB secured an impressive victory with six goals to three. Their shooting percentage stood out at 15 percent while also capitalizing on two empty-net opportunities – showcasing their ability to close games effectively.

Looking ahead at MTL's recent form provides further optimism for TB supporters. The Canadiens have struggled consistently throughout this season and will be entering enemy territory where Tampa Bay tends to thrive.

For TB, it's crucial that they maintain discipline and avoid unnecessary penalties which have previously put them in precarious situations. They must also capitalize on powerplay opportunities; something that could be decisive given MTL's penalty kill struggles.

The upcoming game is set for March 3rd at Amalie Arena in Tampa, FL – home turf where TB has historically performed well. Fans can catch all the action live starting from ESPN+ online or BSSUN channel number 653 if watching from home is preferred. With both teams eager for victory, expect nothing less than an intense battle on ice as Tampa Bay looks to reignite their spark and climb up in standings.
