The Lightning showcased their special teams' prowess early in the game by capitalizing on powerplay opportunities. The team's overall shooting percentage stood at twelve percent as they managed to put three goals past the Kings' goaltender from twenty-four shots.


Despite being outscored in even strength play where they netted only one goal from eighteen shots, the Lightning maintained control over faceoffs throughout most of the game with a fifty-seven percent win rate. Their defense was active and resilient as well; they blocked seventeen shots and delivered twenty-three hits over the course of play.

However, it was not enough to secure victory as their goaltender faced nineteen shots and made saves on all but four occasions. The Kings managed to find success at even strength scoring four goals from sixteen shots which ultimately proved decisive.


Fans witnessed an intense battle where both teams had equal chances to tilt the scales in their favor. The Lightning fought hard but were unable to overcome a determined Kings side that found ways to capitalize when it mattered most.
