Lightning Bolts Past Hurricanes with Powerplay Precision

The Tampa Bay Lightning secured a 6-5 victory over the Carolina Hurricanes, improving their preseason record to 1-0. The Hurricanes, despite a strong third period rally, fell short and now stand at 0-1.

First Period


The game kicked off with the Lightning taking an early lead in the first period. Wojciech Stachowiak was instrumental for the Bolts, scoring one of his two goals during this period. Zemgus Girgensons also made his mark by adding another goal to give Tampa Bay a comfortable start.


Second Period


In the second period, both teams tightened their defenses but it was Tampa Bay who managed to extend their lead with another goal. The Canes struggled to find opportunities as they were unable to score any points during this segment.

Third Period


The final period saw an explosive performance from Carolina as they scored four goals in an attempt to close the gap. However, it was not enough against Tampa's resilient defense and strategic playmaking on powerplays which saw them net two crucial goals out of seven attempts throughout the game.


Wojciech Stachowiak stood out once again by contributing significantly alongside Dominic James who provided key assists that helped maintain their lead till endgame.
