First Period


The Bolts came out strong in the first period, quickly establishing a lead with two goals. Anthony Cirelli opened the scoring for Tampa Bay, showcasing his precision by converting one of his four shots into a goal. Ryan McDonagh also contributed significantly by netting another goal for the Lightning during this period. Despite being outshot by Columbus, Jonas Johansson stood firm between the pipes for Tampa Bay.


Second Period

Victor Hedman was instrumental on defense for Tampa Bay during this goalless stretch and provided an assist earlier that kept them competitive.

Third Period


In an unexpected twist during the third period, Columbus found their rhythm and began to mount a comeback against Tampa's early advantage. Kirill Marchenko led this charge for CBJ with consistent pressure that eventually resulted in three unanswered goals across even strength play from various contributors including Kent Johnson and Damon Severson who were pivotal throughout these exchanges.
