First Period

The game began with both teams showcasing their offensive capabilities. The Lightning struck first with a goal from Brayden Point, who capitalized on an even-strength opportunity. However, the Avs quickly responded with a goal of their own from Victor Olofsson, leveling the score by period's end.

Second Period

The second period saw a shift in momentum as Colorado took control. The Burgundy and Blue netted two goals during this segment, one of which came from Ross Colton on a power play. Despite several attempts by Nikita Kucherov and his teammates to break through Colorado's defense, they were unable to add any points during this period.

Third Period

In the final stretch of play, Tampa Bay managed to close the gap slightly with another goal scored by Nikita Kucherov. The Bolts' defense tightened up as Andrei Vasilevskiy made crucial saves against multiple shots from Colorado’s forwards. Yet despite these efforts and an aggressive push towards equalizing late in regulation time, they could not overcome Colorado’s lead.

Brayden Point was recognized for his performance throughout this matchup but ultimately it was not enough for victory over their Western Conference rivals.
