Third Period


The third period saw a resurgence from Tampa Bay as they leveled up through a well-executed even-strength goal by J.J. Moser. This equalizer set up an intense finish as both teams battled hard to gain control and avoid overtime.


Overtime and Shootout


Despite several attempts from both sides during overtime, neither could break through defensively robust performances from each goaltender. In the shootout phase that followed, it was Ilya Sorokin who stood tall for New York by saving two out of three shots faced while Anthony Duclair netted twice for Isles securing them victory over Lightning.
