However, the second period saw the Maple Leafs break through with their first goal while on powerplay out of two opportunities. Their special teams capitalized on one chance to score during this advantage. The third period was where Toronto truly shined; they netted three more goals including an emptynetter which sealed their win.

The Maple Leafs demonstrated remarkable accuracy throughout the game with a shooting percentage of 14 percent from their total shots taken (29). They also showed dominance in faceoffs winning 32 out of 61 attempts which translated to a faceoff win percentage of 52 percent. This control over puck possession contributed significantly to their success.

Moreover, goaltending for the Maple Leafs was impeccable as they saved all but two shots against them for a perfect save percentage.

On the other side of the ice, despite being outplayed overall, St. Louis managed to put up resistance scoring twice from their total shot count (21) and achieving a shooting percentage of ten percent which reflected their efforts against a tough opponent like Toronto.
