The game began with an aggressive start from Toronto, who set the tone early by netting three goals in the first period. Their offensive efforts were relentless, as they fired off a total of 36 shots during the game, boasting an impressive shooting percentage of 17 percent. The powerplay unit contributed significantly to their success, capitalizing on two out of five opportunities with ten shots on goal during these advantageous moments.


Toronto's defense was equally formidable; they blocked a total of 17 shots and delivered 21 hits to keep Arizona's attackers at bay. Goaltending was another area where Toronto shined – their goalie saved all but three of Arizona's attempts, maintaining an impeccable save percentage throughout all periods.

The Maple Leafs also demonstrated superiority in puck possession and playmaking. They won more than half of their faceoffs with a win percentage standing at 52 percent and assisted on ten occasions which played a crucial role in six goals scored by different players across all periods.


On Arizona's side, despite being outplayed overall, they managed to put up some resistance in the second period by matching Toronto's scoring pace for that duration only. Their goaltender made an admirable effort with thirty saves against numerous attempts but ultimately could not withstand Toronto’s offensive barrage.

As for discipline on ice, both teams spent time serving penalties; however, it was Arizona who ended up slightly more penalized with fourteen minutes spent off ice compared to ten for Toronto.
