The Maple Leafs set the tone early in the game by netting four goals in the opening period and adding two more in the second. The final period saw them add one more to their tally, while their defense held strong throughout most of the game. Toronto's goaltender played a crucial role with twenty-three saves on twenty-six shots against him, maintaining a perfect save percentage.

Toronto's offense was firing on all cylinders as they recorded sixteen points throughout the game – nine assists complementing their seven goals. Their performance at even strength was particularly notable as all seven of their goals came during five-on-five play. In contrast, both teams had limited success with powerplays; neither team scored despite multiple opportunities.
