The game began with both teams showcasing their defensive capabilities. The Bruins managed to slip one past the Maple Leafs' goaltender in the first period, setting an early tone for what was to come. Despite numerous attempts by both sides to dominate possession and create scoring opportunities throughout the second period, it was again the Bruins who found success twice more, capitalizing on their chances and extending their lead.

The Maple Leafs fought back valiantly in the third period and were rewarded with a goal that invigorated their fans among the crowd of 19,256 attendees. However, this surge was not enough to overturn Boston's lead. The home team's efforts were reflected in their superior number of hits (62 compared to Boston's 35) and faceoff wins (34 out of 56), demonstrating their determination and physical presence on ice.

Toronto's goaltending performance included saving 19 out of 22 shots but ultimately fell short against Boston's sharpshooters who boasted a shooting percentage of 14 percent. On special teams play, both squads had three powerplays; however only Boston managed to convert one opportunity into a goal which contributed significantly to their victory.

Despite having more shots on goal (25 for Toronto versus 22 for Boston), it was clear that quality trumped quantity as only one puck found its way past Boston’s impenetrable goalie who saved all but one shot for an impressive save percentage rounding up to perfect hundred percent.
