Second Period

In response to Montreal's initial dominance, Toronto's William Nylander made his presence felt in the second period by contributing a goal and an assist. This effort helped narrow down Montreal's lead as Nylander showcased his offensive skills. Despite this push from Nylander and support from Matias Maccelli who added an assist, Toronto could only manage one goal in this period.

Third Period

As play resumed in the third period, Oliver Ekman-Larsson managed to find the back of the net for Toronto once more. However, it was not enough to counteract Montreal's consistent performance throughout all periods. The Canadiens added another goal to their tally during this segment of play.
