The opening period saw both teams finding their rhythm on the ice. The Maple Leafs managed to score first with William Nylander finding the back of the net, assisted by Auston Matthews. However, Ottawa quickly responded with a goal from Dylan Cozens, setting an early tone for what would be a competitive match.

Second Period

As play resumed in the second period, it was clear that Ottawa had gained momentum. They dominated this segment by scoring four goals while limiting Toronto to just one more goal from Morgan Rielly.
