The game saw both teams put up a strong fight from start to finish. The Vancouver Canucks opened the scoring in the first period and managed to find the back of the net once in each subsequent period. However, their shooting percentage of 13 percent was slightly lower than that of their opponents. The Canucks' goaltender made 22 saves but had a save percentage below that of his counterpart from Seattle, which stood at around 88 percent.

The Kraken capitalized on their opportunities, scoring twice in both the second and third periods and boasting a shooting accuracy of approximately 15 percent throughout the game. Their offense was complemented by solid defense; they blocked ten shots and won over half of their faceoffs.

Special teams played a role as well; however, neither side could convert on powerplay chances with both teams failing to score during man advantages. The Kraken had three powerplay opportunities but did not manage to capitalize on any despite winning around 67 percent of faceoffs during those moments.

Vancouver's players showed resilience and determination as they delivered more hits than Seattle with a total count reaching into double digits at thirty-three hits for Vancouver against twenty-nine for Seattle. Additionally, they took away possession seven times compared to four by Seattle.

Despite these efforts by Vancouver players like Elias Pettersson or Quinn Hughes who are known for making significant impacts in games like these – it wasn't enough against an evenly matched opponent such as Jared McCann or Yanni Gourde from Seattle who contributed significantly towards this win for their team.
